I've been praying for awhile

I have thought for quite awhile that Grace Gospel Fellowship needed a Youth Group, well, two, because I think Jr. High and Sr. High should not have the same YG. I know churches that do both but in my humble opinion it should be seperate.

I'm excited that on Wednesday Darin asked for volunteers. Now, I won't be one of them, but I can pray. I also sent him some suggestions about what we do that works. Silly stuff, post cards, games, food, etc.

I've said it before, Youth Ministry can be brutal. It tugs at your heart, sometimes it's heartbreaking, but mostly, it's the most amazing thing you've ever done in your life! I was so excited to have some time off to rest from Fuel and Alive, and now... I miss it. I wish that we had Alive tomorrow. I miss my kids!

I'm praying for Grace Gospel Fellowship's Youth Ministry in addition to Alive and Fuel, please do the same. Kids, and families to be reached by Christ. SALVATION! FORGIVENESS! GRACE! HOPE! LOVE! LOVE!! LOVE!!!

Another one...

We've got like 58 people officially signed up for the Mission Trip!!! I am so excited about what God is going to do and how our little Mission Trip will advance His kingdom. To be used by God, what a joy!

Figuring out the food might seem like such an insignificant task but I feel like it's so important. I put a lot of thought into it, I have to be aware of dietary restrictions... Who is allergic to what, who is a vegetarian, etc, and the food MUST taste good, but to be honest, but the time I'm done cooking, I'm not that hungry.

Its difficult to transport all the food for the trip because of coolers, not enough space in my fridge, so this year I will buy what I can find on sale, get the stuff for lunches, and the rest I will buy from the Aldi's down the street from Detroit Rescue Mission and I will utilize Eastern Market, and HOPEFULLY have some home-grown produce to bring.

On another front, I was able to speak with our Pastor, Jeremy, he got me the deal of a century on paint! To God be the GLORY!! For one place I need 5 - 5 gallon paint thingies, and he saved me about $50 per container so instead of spending $500 for that one place, I will spend $250!! WOOOO HOOOOOOO!!! Also secured the scaffolding that we need to paint the Grace Kitchen!

Since Adam is in Colombia, I really wanted to step up, and honestly, there are a few things I've been worried about... and so I love to see how God answers my prayers, though they may seem insignificant to someone else, I take this mission seriously. I feel like in all the things I am not good in, God handles it. He knows when I am weak, and in my weakness, He makes me strong!

I'd love to have another 15 people sign up! So, God, today I'm asking for You to put it on the hearts of those You want to serve, and I ask that you provide the resources for them to come (the money!!).

Matthew 17:20 He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

Outdoor Concert!!

One of the things we have planned (hopefully!) is to have an outdoor outreach concert with ICRIS, an awesome man of God. I went to stop in at the McDonald's to see if they would let us have it there. I was REALLY REALLY nervous. I prayed for open hearts as I spoke about it. Last year we were there dancing in the parking lot.

I walked in and it was crazy busy, I thought it would be good if I went in at 2:30. Anyway, I met with the Manager, Michael, who was awesome! He talked to his marketing person who said to send over the info and she would run it by the owner.

Pray about this! Please !!! it would be great if we could do it, if we could reach those who don't know Christ who are broken by this world, but can be redeemed! There is hope and His name is JESUS! He came to save us!!

ICRIS

We are looking into doing an outreach in Highland Park... hopefully at the McDonald's!

We have an AWESOME rapper coming from Lansing! I am totally stoked about this! This man is an amazing man of God. God has taken his brokenness and made him whole.

This man started out in this world as a mess! And was like pig pen spreading his mess, until God grabbed ahold of him and said "it is finished!" meaning the mess!

I'm excited to see what God has in store for this Mission trip!!

Psalm 139
For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.
1 O LORD, you have searched me
and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.

3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.

4 Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.

5 You hem me in—behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?

8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, [a] you are there.

9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,

10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.

11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"

12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

17 How precious to [b] me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!

18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with you.

19 If only you would slay the wicked, O God!
Away from me, you bloodthirsty men!

20 They speak of you with evil intent;
your adversaries misuse your name.

21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD,
and abhor those who rise up against you?

22 I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them my enemies.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.

24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

CHECK!

I had a student come up to me and say "here's my deposit for the DETROIT MISSION TRIP, I don't know how I am going to come up with the rest, but I know God wants me to go".

I have seen God do quite a work in this beautiful young woman's life. Its been truly amazing to watch a broken beat up child transform into what God had created her to be... simply beautiful.

Today while standing at the resource center a wonderful couple asked if there was a way they could sponsor a student who couldn't afford to go. And instantly I thought of that beauty. God did want her to go, and He made a way.

We had a great service today, so many people are walking around saying "God is..." It's a beautiful thing when people can see that God is... but to be honest, I don't need a service to do that. I see what God is everyday in the way He moves in my life, in those around me, even in those who don't recognize it's Him... yet. I consider it quite a blessing.

He is...

1 Chron 29:11 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.

The reputation of this city starts with me

You know what's funny about our 'Detroit' Mission Trip?

We're not going to Detroit! LOL! Though we will be in cities near Detroit! Highland Park and Pontiac.

I love the Detroit Mission Trip.

It's one of my most favoritist things in the whole world! We haven't even gone this year and I'm excited for next year!

I am a lot more involved this year than I usually am, usually i pretty much show up, cook and then clean up. It's been quite an honor!

The first year, we had about 25 people. Last year about 40, and this year, we already have 52 people signed up! We've got some great things planned and I am so excited!

I've been watching the sales, as I often do. Because I only spend about $25 per person for the WHOLE week! I think the first year it was $40 per person. I take great pride in providing really good meals for a low price, that's what it helps that I watch the sales.

Last week God surprised me with salad dressing on sale ($.94 each), noodles for $.50, and my favorite is $2.49/case! Sure the difference between $2.49 and $3.49 is only $1.00 however, we need at least 15 cases, that's $15! We needed about 20 boxes of noodles, a savings of $.50 per box. $10 saved! Just in two things purchased, I saved $25! That's quite a savings!

It's a gift to be a good steward of the money that is entrusted to me! And it's an honor and a blessing to feed the missionaries that will go into our city to love children, to love those who need Jesus, to be Jesus in different ways to people who need His love.

We will be serving at Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries and Grace Centers of Hope this year.

Please keep those of us who are going in your prayers, pray for those who we will be loving while we are there. Pray for the donations we need so that we can stretch the dollars we are going to have so that we can do more than we can even imagine. May we see God in all things we do. And cool weather wouldn't be so bad either :)

James 2:5 Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?
